A Little Paradise
By chance, a few months ago, we came across this Forest Resort on the North Coast of KZN.  It is one of those places that quite literally takes your breath away. As we were only passing through, we couldn’t explore the place as much as we would have liked to so we knew we would soon be back to camp.
Forest Of Trees
Once you drive through the gates you are transported into another world. A world surrounded by beautiful lush vegetation and trees. When I say trees I mean a forest of trees! Every which way you turn, you are surrounded by trees. Each camp site is as beautiful as the next. On enquiring about all the trees I was amazed to learn that when the lodge first opened the property was a cabbage farm, with not a tree in sight. The original owners planted every tree visible today!
Beautiful Birds
Of course with trees come an abundance of bird life. There are so many different beautiful birds to admire so be sure to pack your binoculars! Above our camp site, high in a tree was a young stork sitting in it’s nest patiently waiting for it’s mother to return.
Facilities
We chose a campsite under a canopy of trees within easy reach of all the amenities. In front we had a beautiful view of the pond with the soothing sounds of the fountain. To the left was the swimming pool area and to the right the immaculate modern ablutions. These facilities really impressed me and I rate them 5 star!
Besides camping, this resort offers glamping, hotel rooms and chalets so there is accommodation to suit all tastes.
An added bonus is the gorgeous beach bar right on the lagoon! This facility can be hired out for special functions, birthdays and weddings and is sure to be a festive occasion you will never forget!
Forest Bar & Restaurant
The forest deck, bar and restaurant area is a great place to relax and enjoy delicious meals. With so many delicious meals on the menu, it really is hard to choose. We finally settled on a delicious snack basket to share and washed it down with ice cold pink gin and tonics.
We then returned to our campsite to light a fire and listen to the sounds of the night.
All You Need
With the beach only a short drive or stroll, less than 1km, a swimming pool, forest bar and restaurant, Zinkwazi Resort really has it all! Be sure to make this your next camping destination! We will definitely be back!
