The Cog & Sprocket Mountain Bike Centre
Closest Town: Magaliesburg
Distance: 5km, 7.5km and 12km Mediam
The Route Cyclists can choose from one of three tracks, namely 5km, 7.5km and 12km*. All tracks begin and end at The Cog & Sprocket, with the longer tracks featuring additional loops that are clearly demarcated along the route.
The trail starts on the valley floor under a leafy canopy of trees. It then follows a single-track gravel road while gradually rising up a grassy hill. The road soon widens into a jeep track following winding switchbacks all the way to the top, where the trail then gives way to sweeping views of the town of Magaliesburg below. The track then drops down to reveal breath-taking views of the valley followed by a steep downhill single track with exciting switchbacks and suspension bridges that lead back to the shaded forest where The Cog & Sprocket awaits.

Avianto MTB Trails
Closest Town: Muldersdrift
Distance: 6km and 17km Easy to Difficult
The trails feature a beginner green loop which is 6km long and consists of mostly jeep track and dirt roads.
The blue intermediate loop is just over 17km and features some challenging sections with single-track and tougher climbs. Off the blue loop riders have the option of taking the more advance black sections which are built for skilled riders. The blue trail features some an old train track and tunnel which is a great feature in the trail. Testing route, don’t be fooled by the relatively short distance, it is a testing “real” mtb trail that will test your skills and fitness levels. New blue and black sections are continually added to the trails.
