Ngandu was built on an old demolished military base which was in full operation during the War Of Independence. The facility today bears no resemblance to the war period and the natural fauna and flora has recovered beautifully, with Ngandu hosting a large collection of aloe species which can be found in Namibia. The hotel is a stern supporter of community and environmental based projects, and is also actively involved in recycling to reduce its carbon fibre footprint.
