Mapesu Wilderness Camp Site
The Mapesu Private Game Reserve is situated in northern Limpopo, South Africa and is spread across 12,500 hectares in size. Our goals are to preserve and restore the environment and re-establish biological diversity while creating an up-close and personal experience that reaches into the heart and soul of every visitor.
Campsite
- Nestled between shady cork trees, baobabs, mopanes and seringas.
- Being close to a natural waterhole attracts many of the animals on the nearby ridges.
- Leopards and hyenas frequent the area as well as numerous bird species such as African Green pigeons and verreaux eagle owls.
- There are 8 individual sites (for up to 24 people) in an unfenced area.
- The location has three ablutions blocks each containing 4 showers, 4 toilets, 2 basins and an outside sink for washing.
- Electricity (15amp & 220 power) is available at each individual site and the ablution blocks. Optional Safari dome tents available for rent.
- Firewood and ice is available for purchase.
- Also, you can enjoy great food and drinks the Mapesu Wilderness Camp Restaurant & Bar (500 meters driving) as well as usage of the pool and dining spaces.
Glamping option. No tent No problem
One of the best ways to connect with the African bush is to sleep under canvas.
- Mapesu offers 15 luxury senior safari dome tents for optional renting. Each tent has two extra length beds with linen and pillows, a canvas cabinet and a battery powered light.
- These 3m x 3m x 2.2m tents can comfortably accommodate two adults. Outside are two steel director chairs and two bundu basins under a canvas veranda.
